What does FCAC mean in CLIMATE

The Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition is a grassroots organization in Alaska that advocates for bold climate action to meet the challenges of global warming. We believe public education, collaborative partnerships and encouraging responsible choices are essential to achieving our goals.

The FCAC participates in a range of activities such as developing sustainability plans, hosting workshops, organizing events, building community awareness around climate change solutions and much more. We also work closely with local government and organizations to ensure that our efforts are making an impact on environmental stewardship and social justice in Alaska.

We welcome everyone who wants to join us on our mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote climate adaptation solutions! Absolutely! Here at FCAC we recognize that collaboration is key if we’re ever going achieve real progress towards mitigating global warming impacts— that means forming meaningful partnerships across different sectors such as government agencies; educational institutions; renewable energy companies; conservationist groups; humanitarian aid organizations; indigenous organizations; plus many more!

So far, we’ve accomplished a great deal since launching just over 3 years ago— some highlights include successfully advocating for an ordinance passed by the local government which mandates large buildings reduce their carbon emissions by 50% by 2030; creating innovative pilot projects aimed at improving the energy efficiency of housing units throughout Fairbanks; developing initiatives like a Community Energy Corps which educates people on best practices when it comes efficient energy consumption habits.; holding international conferences discussing best practices when it comes adapting infrastructure vulnerable towards extreme weather conditions often caused by shifting global climates.
