About AAIS

AAIS was first formed as a non-profit organization in 2003 with participation from government agencies, institutes of higher learning, leading aerospace companies like ST Engineering and key individual contributors. Since then, AAIS has grown by leaps and bounds and its activities have become increasingly more extensive. Today it has over 125 members ranging from industry associations to industry leaders like Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, Fokker Technologies among many others. AAIS works closely with governmental agencies such as Enterprise Singapore (ESG), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) to develop programs that are beneficial to all stakeholders in the aerospace industry. It is also affiliated with international bodies such as Aerospace Industries Association of Europe (AIAE) which gives AAIS access to best practices from similar countries in this region and beyond.

Goals

The primary aim of AAIS is to provide direction for advancement of the domestic aerospace manufacturing sector through developing meaningful partnerships with government agencies, research institutions, universities as well as commercial actors. In addition to this, AAIS also serves to represent employers’ interests both locally and globally by engaging other relevant associations worldwide on matters related to foreign trade policies regulations pertaining to international trade through agreements such as Open Skies agreements between countries in this region among others.
