What does GYC mean in CLUBS

The Genesee Yacht Club accepts sailboats, powerboats, canoes and kayaks that meet all applicable regulations. All boats must have appropriate registration documentation and be equipped according to safety standards.

Yes! Guests are welcome to visit and join Members on their boats or participate in some of our activities such as sailing competitions or social events. All guests must abide by any regulations established by the Club and signed waivers may be required.

Yes, mooring locations at the Genesee Yacht Club are available for both short term stays (such as day visits) as well as long-term stays (such as seasonal). Those staying overnight should consult with dockmaster regarding details such as cost, length of stay and rules & regulations pertaining to mooring or anchoring their vessel.

Yes, instructional classes are available upon request for both Adults and Juniors alike that cover topics such as basic sailing skills, coastal navigation and boat maintenance & repair. Classes may also be customized to meet specific needs or interests so please inquire with staff for more information.

Children are welcomed at the Genesee Yacht Club although parental supervision is always strongly encouraged due to potential dangers around waterways. Certain activities may require minimum age restrictions which will vary depending upon activity specifics so please contact us for more information if necessary
