What does AAU mean in ASIAN

AAU works to increase educational equity, preserve culture and history, advance the civil rights of immigrants, expand housing opportunities for low-income residents, and promote social justice.

AAU is located in Philadelphia with a satellite office in Harrisburg. The organization primarily serves the local Greater Philadelphia region through campaigns addressing diverse issues affecting immigrant communities.

AAU provides a variety of programs and services including legal advice on immigration matters; undocumented youth programming; economic development assistance; voter registration drives; language access assistance; workshops on Know Your Rights topics; leadership development activities; civic engagement initiatives; translation services; college student support groups; community education forums and referrals to other services.

You can join an existing project or program at AAU or start your own! Groups have created biking tours of Chinatowns across Pennsylvania, organized rallies around political causes like a bill protecting DREAMers from deportation, hosted movie screenings about racial justice movements in Southeast Asia, started professional networking circles for Asian Americans throughout Philly and more! In addition to joining an existing project you can also volunteer at events or become an intern with the organization.

Tax deductible donations are accepted online as well as by check sent directly to their office address. Support from individuals provides essential resources for all the incredible projects that Asian Americans United works on.
