What does WAF mean in NEWS & MEDIA

WAF stands for We Are The Future, a youth-led organization focused on promoting environmental sustainability and social justice through education and advocacy.

WAF works to develop and support projects that help build a more just, sustainable and equitable world. This includes initiatives such as renewable energy, climate advocacy, green job creation, eco-friendly initiatives, and much more.

Our main headquarters are based in London but we have local chapters across the UK focused on driving grassroots change. We also have international partners throughout Europe and beyond who share our commitment to tackling pressing global issues.

Anyone can join! We welcome young people from all backgrounds with an interest in making a positive difference. We also actively encourage businesses and individuals to join us in our mission to create a better future for everyone.

There are lots of ways to get involved - you can join one of our local chapters near you or apply for one of our internships or fellowships programmes if you're interested in gaining hands-on experience. You can also make donations or fundraise with us — every bit makes a difference!

To become a volunteer at WAF simply fill out the application form on our website. You will then be contacted by one of our team members who will provide more information about opportunities available according to your interests and availability.

Yes! We offer various training programs for young people looking to gain skills for working towards systemic change within their community and beyond. From lobbying workshops to policy briefings, our training sessions are designed to equip students with the tools they need to create lasting change within society.

So far we have supported over 200 grassroots initiatives across the UK and Europe focusing on climate action, green job creation, gender equality and other areas of social justice work. Our hard work has been rewarded with official recognition from governments across Europe as well as numerous awards at both national and international level.

The team at WAF consists of professional volunteers led by Executive Director Amy Bergen-Reesman alongside our Advisory Board which is comprised of professionals from diverse backgrounds committed to creating systemic change through youth activism.
